Can a Jeweller Tell if a Diamond is Lab-Created?
Jewellers using the naked eye are unable to tell if a diamond is lab-created or not. As both diamonds are made using carbon, they are almost identical. Even to a trained eye, or with the right tools, such as a loupe, they cannot tell the difference between lab-grown and natural diamonds. The diamond will need to be sent to a specialised gemologist, who will be able to detect whether or not nitrogen is present in the diamond.
